Judging Criteria

We believe artists bear the responsibility of developing a healthy imagination that is crucial to innovation in every sector and vocation. When artists create something beautiful, it has the ability to help us all experience something integral to our creation in the image of God and living in His world. The judges seek original well-written short stories (1500-4000 words) with memorable characters that can creatively and reflectively capture the essence of “all things being made new” (Revelation 21:5). Writers are strongly encouraged to reflect on:

Chapter 6 of Stephen J. Nichols’ Heaven on Earth which can be found in Cultivate NO1: Work from Creation to Eternity (available on Amazon)

Part II of N. T. Wright’s Surprised by Hope
